Instructions for Retrieving Backups and Restoring from Amion
Step 1: Check Software Version
- Open the OnCall program.
- Navigate to Help > About OnCall.
- Verify the build date; it should be November 15, 2018, or later.
- If the date is earlier, click Update to download and install the latest version. For detailed instructions on downloading OnCall, follow the provided guidelines.
Step 2: Update OnCall if Necessary
- If the software didn’t update, visit the OnCall download page to install it directly.
- Ensure that the OnCall application is NOT OPEN during the update process.
Step 3: Handle Update Warnings
- If you receive a warning like "Extraction completed with 1 warning" (or more), it means:
- You may lack permission to save files in the installation folder, or
- The OnCall application is still running.
- You have two options:
- Contact your IT department for temporary permission to install or update software.
- Install OnCall to a different folder (e.g., C:\OnCall2013\OnCall.exe).
Step 4: Retrieve a Backup
- In the OnCall program, go to File > Open from backup folder.
- Ignore any local backup options (e.g., "backup_13").
- Click Open from Amion in the lower right corner.
- You will see a list of available backups. Start with the most recent ones at the bottom.
- When you find a suitable backup, publish to Amion to overwrite the faulty schedule.
- If none of the backups are helpful, please contact support for further assistance.
Step 5: Working from Different Computers
- If you work from multiple computers or with multiple schedulers, it’s best to open the schedule from Amion.
- Go to File > Open and select Open from Amion in the lower right corner to ensure you’re working with the most current schedule.
Step 6: Check Online Schedule Updates
- Visit your online schedule on Amion.
- Look beneath the schedule for a time and date stamp to see the last updated information.
- To the right, in orange text, you’ll find the name of the person who last updated the schedule.
- If they are not managing the schedule effectively, direct them to our sharing scheduling help topic for guidance on best practices for sharing schedules.
