This article applies to Amion Next only. Amion Next is the new web-based platform that allows users to manage and view Amion schedule data.
Swap
A swap is a trade of two services between providers. Both parties must agree to the exchange before it is finalized. If enabled, your scheduler may also need to approve the swap.
Swap Pool (Two Way Swap)
The Swap Pool feature allows providers to offer shifts for trade without selecting a specific colleague. This feature enables providers to exchange shifts. Other users can view available shifts in the pool and initiate a swap if interested. If enabled, your scheduler may also need to approve the swap.
Give Away Shifts (One Way Swaps)
Amion supports one-way swaps, which allow a provider to give a shift to a colleague without receiving one in return. The sender selects both the shift and the recipient. Both parties must approve the transaction before the shift transfer is completed. If enabled, your scheduler may also need to approve the swap.
Open Pool on Next (Give Away)
If a provider wishes to give away a shift but does not have a specific recipient in mind, the Open Pool option can be used. This feature allows providers to release a shift with no exchange expected, making it available for others to view and claim outright. If enabled, your scheduler may also need to approve the swap.
Request
The Request feature allows providers to submit off-schedule requests, such as Paid Time Off (PTO), Continuing Medical Education (CME), or other types configured by the group’s scheduler. Depending on the scheduling setup, submitted requests may require approval before appearing on the official schedule.
